designation BSH (Brettschichtholz). Glued laminated timber beams have excellent mechanical properties, are more resistant to cracking than sawn wood, and can achieve a high aesthetic quality. They represent an ideal material for truss frames of larger buildings, such as gymnasiums, riding arenas, shopping centers, and similar. However, they are also utilized in smaller constructions, especially when emphasis is placed on aesthetics of exposed structures. Spruce wood is most commonly used in production, while larch wood is employed in structures subjected to weather conditions.

How laminated wooden wood is made

Glulam beams BSH are made from qualitatively classified lamellas made of solid wood dried to the specified value, so the resulting material is shape-stable and resistant to both warping and the formation of shrinkage cracks. The lamellas adhere to each other with a toothed joint, are glued sideways, and the result is assessed as a cohesive profile. This technology allows for great variability in shapes and structural properties. The production of laminated wood for us is ensured by WIEHAG GmbH. In the company KASPER CZ, the production of structural members takes place on the Hundegger K2i 1250 woodworking center. The assembly of the structure on the construction site remains in our management.

Structural constructions made of glued wood: beauty and functionality

In cooperation with WIEHAG GmbH, we offer two basic surface finishes for glued wood beams: “natural” and “visible” Both are conceived as materials for visible structures, with the "natural" variant potentially containing minor aesthetic defects. The "visible" variant is distinguished by a perfectly smooth surface that meets the strictest criteria.

Laminated wood is produced in several strength classes from GL24h to GL32, where the quality of individual components is subject to electronic control. To protect the glued wood structures, we use high-quality coating systems from Remmers or BASF in paint shades according to the color samples.
